So logged on Amazon and purchased two books, one to give away. When I picked up the book, I could not put it down! It’s as if my fingers were glued to it. I read this book the fastest I’ve read ANY other book my whole life! Wow. This book really holds your attention. I admire Pastor Jackson's courage and faith in writing this book and allowing us to experience his journey with us. If we can be honest with ourselves, we will admit that we have allowed someone or something to hold us hostage because of unforgiveness. He clearly explains what Freedom of Forgiveness is through this book. I would highly recommend this book to all. Very relatable.
As I started to read the the first chapter it was as if I was there living this journey with the author. Thank you for sharing your journey of unforgivness to forgiveness. Chapter 3 Page 75 the last paragraph is when I felt the lightness and a release of pressure. This book is POWERFUL.
As much as our not wanting to let go of past injustice we must do so. Pastor Allen has hit the nail on the head. Un forgiveness creates all kinds of problems physically and mentally. It's death to your soul. This is a must read for every person professing to be a Christian; Christ like. The Bible says that they will know us by our love. LOVE FORGIVES. That is the only way that we will be able to move on in life. Drugs and alcohol, want fix the problem but FORGIVENESS will. Thanks Pastor Allen for a well written book.
I typically don't write reviews but for this book I just had to! It isn't often that I pick up a book and can't put it down and it isn't often that a book not only tugs on your heart but also ministers to your spirit, causing introspection which can then lead to growth and change. I recommend this book to everyone....not only people who are currently experiencing unforgiveness but everyone on a whole. Because at some point or another in life you will experience hurt and this book will help you to not only get through that but it will also help you understand your pain all while teaching you many lessons and for me that is a win win! And if it doesn't help you directly it will help you to help someone! It is heart wrenching yet heart warming and surely it is filled with solid life lessons! Get your copy now!
I had the privilege of reading the book The Freedom of Forgiveness and I walked into this book thinking--a book by a pastor it will feature bible verses, steps, study information. I was shocked this book reads so easily, it is not preachy, but tells a story of a personal experience. A pastor, who is first a man, shares his story and exposes his struggle to forgive his brother. He highlights that in life you don't always have it all together no matter who you are. Christians, believers, and non believers all need to read this book because we all need to forgive for the same reason. It helps and frees us no matter if we are the forgiver or the forgiven. "Lock your bedroom door," is the message that screams out to me through the tragedy of Pastor A.J.'s mother of whom he charismatically portrays. Who would think their child could do the unthinkable to them? I am a parent who faces the challenges of raising my emotionally, unbalanced, rude and rage seeking son! I had a master lock placed on my bedroom door! Before reading this book, I would go to my room, doze off, forget to lock my door..... After reading this book, I won't stand to chance it..........
