Heather Renee's debut novel was a fun adventure story that will appeal to many readers! It's a quick read with a sweet romance between the main characters--Kali and Lucas--that will leave you with warm fuzzy feels. Heather Renee created a lot of cool elements that enhance the story such as changing eye colors to match your soulmate, books that give you clues to your fate, and an interesting system of magic I'm looking forward to seeing developed even further in the future books. I'm also looking forward to learning more about the fictional world of Arvata in the next installment of The Guardians of Arvata. There's so much yet to be discovered there, I'm sure the author is going to take us on a great ride!

Besides Kali and Lucas my favorite character is Jordan, Kali's best friend. She brings a great sense of humor to the book and is full of spunk. She's really well developed and I hope she makes it into the next book as well. And then there is the mysteries "Fates!" Ahhhh, I need to know more about the "Fates" and how they communicate with the "new Elders" besides through their books. Can't wait to see what Heather Renee comes up with! Great starting off point to what I'm sure is going to be a wonderful series.

It's okay and I might even read the next book in case the writing has improved. Things were just too simple. Everything just happened without any stress or real difficulty. I wasn't invested in the characters because they didn't really have struggles. I'm disappointed as the premise of the book is interesting but the story needs to be fleshed out.
To The Falls is a great fresh idea. I love when you have an author who has come up with an original idea! Heather did just that.

I love Kali and Lucas and the great couple that they make. I adore Strix! He is so awesome and he's a great companion to Kali. I wish I had a best friend as awesome as Jordan. She's basically me. Maybe that's why I enjoy her so much?

And the glowing eyes of your Meraki. Swoon! I loved it.

It was a great read that I sat down with one sitting. I love when a book captivates you like that.
A fantastic debut from author, Heather Renee, that immediately pulls the reader in. When Kali's life takes a sudden turn away from her well placed plans, she learns that she must step forward and face her fate. The world building is on par with a well seasoned author instead of being the first book by the author. I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions between the characters as they never felt contrived. While the story did move somewhat fast in places that I wish had been drawn out a little more, the story was not overly rushed. I cannot wait to read the next book by this author.
I was excited that Heather was publishing her own book, and while late to reading the debut novel I enjoyed it very much. The story is very well thought out and a different take on an otherworldly story. Kali &a Jordan remind me of me and my best friend and really made me instantly connect with the book.

Lucas - he's everything any girl could ever dream of, the love and support is next level.

I can't wait to read the second one and find out how the trilogy develops. Great job Heather !!!
This was a great first book and series to start with. Heather took the right amount of time to build her character’s stories without putting in too much detail. That is a fine art, to be able to tell a story with the right amount of detail without going overboard into TOO much detail. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and learn more about of these wonderful characters and their world. I am sure there are many more trials this group has to go through. I also hope that the supporting characters get a little more details, such as the healer and the owl....(wink, wink).
“To the Falls”, book 1 of Guardians of Arvata by Heather Renee is a magical book. I really enjoyed the unique story and world Heather Renee created. Following Kali into this magical land of Artava and her adventures was enjoyable, scary, and heartwarming. I did feel, however, that the story was bit rushed. Everything happened very quickly for the main character, Kali and it seemed to me as the reader too fast. I also felt there could have been more “in-depth” character development of the main character and her friends. As I reader I felt I just barely got to really know them. I do recommend this book; love the story and adventure and I’m looking forward to more in Book 2. Great job on your debut book, Heather Renee.
